PASTORAL OPENING SPEECH FOR 2017

INTRODUCTION

The LORD reigns, he is robed in majesty; the LORD is robed in majesty and is armed with strength (Ps. 93:1, NIV)

We continue to exalt the LORD, the reigning King, great and majesty, strong and mighty. We thank Him once again for the grace giving to us to witness this New Year 2017. It gives me great joy to read this first opening address and to welcome you all, beloved people of God to year 2017. We thank God for how far He has helped us in year 2016.We have confidence in the unchanging Changer that as He lead us in the previous year, He will do more than our expectations this new year. As we continue in the year, let us make the most of the opportunities that the God of grace and blessing gives us , so that we can make a greater impact for him. May this year 2017 be a year of glorious, all round surplus, abundant blessing, breakthrough and testimonies for each one of us in Jesus name.

APPRECIATION

I salute the courage, perseverance and commitment of all of you. Pastor Daramola, Deacons, Head of Department, Secretariat and church workers, who served and are still serving the Lord with their might. Also, all our distance members at home and abroad. May the Lord reward you all bountifully.

THEME OF THE YEAR

Each year, by the grace of God , we have the unction to receive  prophetic revelation for the year from God through our Lord Jesus Christ, which will give us some insights into what to expect in the new year. God has led us to a great theme this year, “Our Year of Surplus” taken from the book of Proverbs 3:10. This theme is loaded. Despite the fact that the country is experiencing economic recession. The promise of God for all His People is that no matter the level of  recession in the country, there shall be surplus, overflow, left over, extra and excess for all His people. No man rises without surplus. People of God, I charge you all to generously donate to help us project God’s mission. It is my prayer that this year all of us will experience all round surplus and there will be a record of great joy and celebrations in all areas of our life as a result of surplus in the name of Jesus.

2017 VISION

We thank God for how far He has helped us in the growth and development of the church. We are trusting God this year He will help us to do more than our expectations. This year we are trusting God to do the following:

1. SPIRITUAL PROGRAM: Worship leader’s seminar, seminar for children church workers, Teen’s church workers, catch them young, empowerment program etc.
2. MISSION AND EVANGELISM. This year we are trusting God to reach out more. Visit mission field, win more soul to His kingdom.
3. By the grace of God, this month we are going to continue with discipleship program. Please make yourself available to be Christ’s disciple.
4. We are still trusting God this year to do the following project:
   1. Tiles
   2. Plastering the remaining part of the church building
   3. Ceiling
   4. Wiring the church
   5. Crèche.

People of God, this cannot be done achieve without your support. Help me to succeed amidst you, my success is your success, my failure is your failure. So, beloved, let us work together to expand God’s kingdom and for his church to experience more physical and spiritual development.

CONCLUSION

Once again, you are welcome to our year of surplus. Maximize the opportunity of the year. Be open to what God has for us through His prepared vessels so that you can experience all round surplus. May the Lord bless you all abundantly!
